What's that?
The "ipjp" Mailing List is an interactive forum for exchanging information on IP developments in Japan and Asia. If you become a member you can send E-mail to all the members by submitting it to one address and will receive E-mail sent by one of the Mailing List members. Also, you can view old mail from the archives. News mail from the webmaster should come, say, once or twice a month, much more frequently than the updating of this website.

How to join
Send E-mail simply stating only "subscribe ipjp" in the text to the service provider. Please add nothing else to the text, not even your Signature. In a separate E-mail to the Webmaster, please identify yourself by stating at least your name and the name of a firm or company you are associated with.

This Mailing List is a closed one for security reasons. To become a member it is necessary to have an approval of the Webmaster. With the webmaster's approval, your E-mail address will be added to the "ipjp" Mailing List. To remove your E-mail address from the list, send "unsubscribe ipjp" to the service provider.

How to use
If you wish to send E-mail to all members, send your mail to ipjp@ml.asahi-net.or.jp. Your mail will be forwarded to all the members and held in the archives. To retrieve a list of files in the archives, send "index ipjp" (again without any other phrases or Signature) to the service provider and send "get ipjp [filename]" to the service provider.

Be nice
For security reasons, please do not send anything other than ASCII text-based mail to the Mailing List. Also, do not open any files attached to mail received from an unknown sender. As a matter of courtesy, use the Mailing List only for information that would be of some interest to most members related to IP events and developments in Japan and Asia. The Mailing List should not be used for communication with a minor group within the membership. Everyone involved appreciates your cooperation. The webmaster reserves rights to delete any address from the Mailing List without prior notice and disclaims any liability associated with the use of this Mailing List service, provided without any charges for your information and personal use only.
